Drawn to "people photography" as a natural extension of her passionate personality and desire for photographing creative people, Karen moved to Los Angeles in 1988 to further her education at UCLA and use her talents in the entertainment industry. Karen's style and creativity, coupled with her ability to make people feel relaxed and capture them more true to character, made her a successful and well-known entertainment photographer.
Karen moved her photography business back to the Seattle area as the music scene exploded in the early 1990's. Karen Mason-Blair's name and reputation made her a sought-after photographer in the newly emerging "Seattle scene", where her studio has resided for the past 13 years.
She has been published both nationally and internationally in such magazines as People, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly . Her 15 year career runs the gamut from celebrities like Duran Duran to Nirvana and beyond.
